Chocolate No-Bake Cookies

Saturday, May 22, 2010

These wonderful easy-to-make cookies bring back memories of being a little girl and my own mother making these for me and my sisters.  I love making them and I hope you will too! I can't wait to make them for Zeke, Madie Ruth, and Jackson!
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups of sugar
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup of Cocoa
1 tsp. of vanilla
1/2 cup of peanut butter
3 cups of raw oatmeal
* Mix sugar, butter, milk and cocoa in a saucepan on top of the stove and bring to a boil for about a minute - stirring the whole time.

* Immediately remove from heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and peanut butter.
 * Now pour in the 3 cups of Oatmeal, mixing well.

* Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper and let cool and set up! Do not bake!

ENJOY this cookie - it has to be pretty good for you with the cocoa and raw oatmeal and peanut butter...just don't eat too many (at one time)!

Love,

Sounds delicious! I can't wait to try them. I might have to make a batch for some pre-wedding sustenance!

My mama made them alot when I was a little girl and they are my absolute favorite! We call it oatmeal candy, though. I finally decided to learn to make it on my own since she doesn't bake as much as she used to.

Thanks for sharing. It brings back such sweet memories just seeing them.

Jan,
These are our family's favorite cookies. I made them for our two and now our granddaughters love them. I sent them to our son when he was in Afghanistan. He just told me that only a few of them made it to him as 'cookies' the rest were crumbs!!! That was fine with him--he just took the crumbs to the mess tent and put them on ice cream!!!!

We used to have these in the school lunchroom. They put raisins in them sometimes. I jotted down your recipe and my little guy and I made them. They were Yummy Good. Thanks for the recipe.
