South Africa - 1

Monday, May 11, 2009

Today marks the beginning of a journey to South Africa! The actual trip is late August of this year, but the process has begun in earnest. We have known about this mission opportunity since late Winter, but the details are coming together and I am beside myself. My husband and I finally got everything together and applied for our passports today! After finding out that I wasn't "certified," there was a delay. I have had a copy of my birth certificate for a VERY long time :), but only recently discovered it wasn't certified. I got that taken care of this past week, so we are well on our way. The nice gentleman at the Post Office told us the turn around time is actually just 3 or 4 weeks! I want to keep up with this journey on my blog, so I'm going to number the today is number one! I appreciate your prayers as God brings me and this mission trip to your mind. Much love, Jan

Praying that God will open some gracious doors for you two as you travel to such a distant land. May He prepare your hearts to sense His direction. May the ONE thing be Christ's impact through you to some soul in need of His Grace.
Miss you!

Jan, I'm so delighted to hear of your excitement over the details of the trip. Just applying for a passport makes it all seem so real doesn't it?

Praying the Lord shows Himself strong and mighty as you and your husband go to minister in His name.

With a heart of thanksgiving to the Lord for you,

Oh, Mrs. Jan,
Kirk got so excited when I told him your news...I don't think he realized that you two were also going to be in Jo'burg! He is looking for his pictures now to share them with y'all...I think sometimes he wonders if the Lord will move him back there! :)
God is going to bless your group so greatly, I have faith in that! love ya, Jen
