MY RECIPE IS PUBLISHED!

Friday, June 25, 2010

Y'all know I love to cook. I really do. I love to cook for my family! My sweet husband Gary and my oldest son Jeremy are the two who dearly love to eat.  My youngest son Jonathan eats too, but doesn't get nearly as excited about eating as the aforementioned two of my men-folk. But I love to cook for him too!

Anyway, I am so excited to share with you that my "Gran Jan's Chicken Pie" recipe was published in the newest cookbook entitled Slow Cookers, Casseroles & Skillets from one of my most favorite websites Gooseberry Patch.  Check it out!
Here is a picture of "PAGE 112" which is my recipe!!!  It is a very easy and delicious chicken pie with a biscuit crust.  Sometimes I add vegetables, and sometimes I just make it with the chicken and filling and biscuit top. It is oh so good, like a comfort food should be.
And may I just say from one Georgia girl to another (that would be to Mrs. Paula Deen): "so you think your peach cobber is good? You need to taste mine!"

I'm just saying...

That sounds good for sure and easy to make! I for one am not a cook at all...but I do think that I could make that dish :)
As for cobblers, that I can make and I must say I make a pretty yummy apricot cobbler. My grandma taught me how and oh how I wish that I had a picture of us making one together when I was a girl.

I'm going to have to try Gran Jan's chicken pie.
If my son's all star team would have advanced in their tourney, we would have played in Hawkinsville! But we lost. Oh well, if we ever head your way, I'll have to let you know.

Jan, I love that you made it semi-homemade with the rotisserie chicken. It's so nice to have a time-saver.
I am grinning that you are now a published Southern cook! Oh, wait. You're in the Siesta Cookbook, too!
Luv u...

Just click on the title of the cookbook in the second paragraph. It is a hyperlink to the Gooseberry Patch website where you can order the cookbook (or lots of other things for that matter)!
